Saudi Arabia’s Humain Partners with AMD and Cisco to Build 100 MW AI Data Center

Humain Partners

Humain has announced a major collaboration with AMD and Cisco to develop large-scale AI data centers across the Middle East, beginning with a 100-megawatt facility in Saudi Arabia. The first cluster will be dedicated entirely to Luma AI, a U.S.-based video-generation company that has signed on as the initial customer.

Humain CEO Tareq Amin confirmed that Luma AI will occupy the full 100 MW capacity of the first site. While construction has yet to begin, orders for equipment and future phases are already being processed. The joint venture behind the project—still unnamed—marks a significant step forward in regional AI infrastructure development.

Massive Global Expansion Planned

Humain, AMD, and Cisco plan to scale their data center footprint to 1 gigawatt by 2030, expanding into Asia, Europe, India, the Middle East, and Africa. Combined, these regions represent a potential user base of more than 4.5 billion people.

The concept originated from U.S.–Saudi cooperation agreements announced earlier in the year and has gained renewed momentum following high-level meetings between Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and U.S. leadership.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is supporting Humain’s expansion, drawn by the advantages of affordable land and low-cost energy across the kingdom.

Key Roles of AMD and Cisco

AMD entered a multibillion-dollar agreement with Humain to supply advanced AI processors, including the MI450 chips powering the first 100 MW installation.

Cisco will provide the network backbone for the project and is also committing its global sales expertise to help position Humain’s data center capacity to enterprise customers worldwide. Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins emphasized the company’s decades of experience in sales enablement and confirmed that Cisco will support additional development stages.

Humain will lead the overall initiative, with AMD and Cisco participating as minority shareholders who will share both profits and operational responsibilities. AMD CEO Lisa Su expressed confidence in the partnership, stating that all parties are jointly committed to ensuring its success.

A Renewable-Powered Vision

According to Tareq Amin, the upcoming 2026 build will operate entirely on renewable energy. This standard will apply to all future Humain data center developments.

Despite construction not yet being underway, the company reports strong demand and growing purchase commitments for upcoming phases, signaling broad industry confidence in the project.

Part of a Larger U.S.–Saudi Tech Push

This AI venture is one of several major technology partnerships formed between American companies and Saudi entities earlier in the year. While companies such as Nvidia and Qualcomm have also entered strategic agreements, Humain stands out as the only one with a fully confirmed deployment and a customer ready to utilize the entire first-phase capacity—moving beyond conceptual announcements into real-world implementation.
