HONG KONG: NFT Limited has introduced RWAIX, a new technical protocol designed to improve verification and transparency across digital transactions involving identities, agreements, payments and deliveries.
The NYSE American-listed company, which operates an online platform for digital art and collectibles, said RWAIX is intended to serve as a shared record-keeping framework for buyers, sellers and independent verifiers.
The system is designed to allow participants to review key transaction information, including contractual agreements, delivery status, payment records and dispute-resolution processes.
According to NFT Limited, internal testing of the protocol produced 50 successful tests with no recorded failures.
The company has also released a reference implementation of RWAIX as open-source software on GitHub under the MIT License, enabling developers to review the code, clone the repository and run the test suite independently.
Pilot targeted for Q1 2027
NFT Limited plans to integrate RWAIX into its existing digital art platform, operated by wholly owned subsidiary Metaverse Digital Payment Co., Limited.
A limited pilot is expected to begin within 90 days, targeting the first quarter of 2027, subject to the completion of an independent security review.
Under the company’s proposed 90-day implementation plan, the first 30 days will focus on securing platform software and artwork rights for a controlled transaction.
The following 30 days will involve testing the full transaction process in a sandbox environment.
If the security review is successfully completed, the company plans to conduct a small live transaction involving real funds during the final 30-day phase.
The pilot will use existing banking and payment infrastructure, with no requirement for cryptocurrency.
NFT Limited also confirmed that it has not issued any tokens in connection with the pilot.
Future applications under consideration
The company said it is exploring potential applications for RWAIX beyond digital art, including verification of artificial intelligence computing resources and authorization systems for robotics.
However, NFT Limited said no customers have been signed and no projects have yet been launched in these areas.
The RWAIX whitepaper also outlines two potential token concepts, DCNFT and $RWAIX, as future design ideas.
The company stressed that neither token has been issued, approved or offered for sale, and no regulatory approval has been sought or received in relation to them.
NFT Limited Chief Executive Officer Yanying Wang said the company is focused on making its existing digital commerce platform more transparent and verifiable for all participants.
The launch reflects growing industry interest in digital transaction infrastructure that can provide clearer records of ownership, payments, obligations and delivery without relying exclusively on cryptocurrency-based systems.
