Swiss digital asset services provider Bitcoin Suisse has secured regulatory approval to operate in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step in its Middle East expansion strategy. The Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has granted a Financial Services Permission to the company’s regional arm, BTCS (Middle East) Ltd., allowing it to offer regulated digital asset services in the UAE.
The new authorization enables Bitcoin Suisse to serve institutional and professional investors with a range of regulated offerings, including institutional-grade crypto custody, trading of approved virtual assets, digital asset exposure management, hedging solutions, and dedicated relationship management. The regional business is led by Ceyda Majcen, Chief Executive Officer of BTCS (Middle East) Ltd., who will oversee the company’s growth across the region.
The approval follows a multi-stage licensing process with ADGM and represents Bitcoin Suisse’s fourth regulated jurisdiction. The company also plans to expand its services in the future by supporting access to tokenized real-world assets as demand for the emerging asset class continues to grow.
Founded in Zug, Switzerland, in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse manages approximately $3.7 billion in digital assets and is recognized as one of the world’s largest staking providers. The company employs more than 200 professionals across offices in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Bermuda, and now the United Arab Emirates.
The expansion comes as the UAE continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for digital assets. Regulatory frameworks established by ADGM and Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) have attracted a growing number of international crypto firms seeking a clear and business-friendly regulatory environment.
Industry observers expect Bitcoin Suisse’s regional presence to support the continued development of institutional digital asset infrastructure in the Middle East. The expansion is also likely to generate demand for skilled professionals in compliance, relationship management, custody operations, and blockchain technology as the company scales its operations in the region.
