Dubai has launched a new Engineers Incubator initiative aimed at creating 50 Emirati-owned companies in contracting and engineering consultancy, strengthening the participation of UAE nationals in the housing and construction sectors.
The initiative was launched through a cooperation agreement signed by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE), Dubai Municipality, the Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) in Dubai, and the New Economy Academy.
Three-Month Programme to Support Emirati Entrepreneurs
The Engineers Incubator will run for three months and combine professional development, specialised training and practical experience through real engineering projects.
The programme is designed to help Emirati participants develop the skills and knowledge needed to establish engineering consultancy offices, contracting companies and maintenance businesses.
Participants will also gain hands-on experience intended to prepare them for operating within Dubai’s housing sector and broader construction market.
Six-Stage Development Model
The initiative will be delivered through six stages covering recruitment, qualification, practical application, establishment, empowerment and sustainability.
Participants will move from professional training into practical project work before progressing towards the establishment of their own businesses.
The final stages will focus on supporting the long-term development and sustainability of the new companies, helping them build the capacity required to operate and expand in the market.
Supporting Emirati Participation in Housing Projects
Through the initiative, the participating organisations aim to increase the involvement of Emirati-owned companies in housing projects across Dubai.
The programme is also expected to improve project execution by giving participants direct practical exposure to engineering and construction work.
In addition, the initiative seeks to create new entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for UAE nationals while developing a stronger pipeline of national talent in engineering-related industries.
Aligned With Dubai’s Economic and Urban Development Plans
The Engineers Incubator also supports Dubai’s wider economic and urban development objectives.
By encouraging more Emiratis to establish businesses in construction, engineering consultancy and maintenance, the initiative is expected to contribute to the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
The programme reflects Dubai’s continued focus on developing national talent, supporting entrepreneurship and increasing the contribution of Emirati-owned businesses to key sectors of the economy.
