Flipster Wins Full VARA Exchange Licence to Expand Regulated Crypto Services in UAE

Flipster, a global cryptocurrency trading platform, has obtained a full operational Exchange licence (Licence No. VL/26/07/002) from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) through its entity, Flipster FZE, allowing the company to officially offer regulated virtual asset services in the UAE.

The licence authorises Flipster FZE to onboard customers in the UAE, with plans to gradually extend access to a wider international user base. The platform’s initial regulated offering will focus on spot trading, while future services are expected to expand its product portfolio. In supported jurisdictions, Flipster also provides access to real-world asset perpetuals, enabling users to gain exposure to both digital and traditional financial markets.

The approval marks Flipster’s transition from in-principle approval to full operational status under VARA’s regulatory framework, one of the world’s leading digital asset regulatory regimes. Operating under the framework requires adherence to strict standards covering custody, governance, compliance, and investor protection, supporting a more transparent and secure trading environment.

The company said the licence reflects its commitment to meeting global regulatory standards and strengthening trust in digital asset trading. Flipster views regulation as a key driver of long-term growth, with VARA’s framework balancing financial innovation with strong consumer safeguards.

Flipster announced its expansion into the Middle East in May 2025 with the appointment of Benjamin Grolimund as General Manager of Flipster FZE. Securing the full operational licence represents the next stage of that strategy, enabling the company to transition from establishing a regional presence to delivering fully regulated cryptocurrency services in one of the world’s fastest-growing digital asset markets.
